Ruth Stone, Esq. has been the President of Piedmont CASA since June 1995. An attorney with experience in foster care, social work and family law, she holds a J.D. from the College of William and Mary and a Bachelor of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a trainer for the Virginia Supreme Court's pre-bench training program for new juvenile court judges, is a member of the Charlottesville Best Practices Court Team and is the Chair of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Commission on Children and Families. The Foothills Child Advocacy Center and the Family Drug Treatment Court are two collaborative initiatives she helped bring to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Community. |

Rachel S. Lloyd Miller joined Piedmont CASA in 2003 as a CASA Supervisor; in September 2009 she became the Advancement Director. Rachel holds an MA from the Bread Loaf School of English through Middlebury College and a BA in English Literature from the University of Virginia. Prior to her association with Piedmont CASA, Rachel taught English for eight years. She also worked as the Administrator and an assistant editor for The Diversity Factor, a quarterly electronic journal focused on the fields of diversity and organizational development. Rachel is married and has two young children. In her (rare) spare time, she enjoys mountain biking, running, photography and, always, reading. |

Lindsey Henry joined Piedmont CASA in December 2008. She earned a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies from Samford University. In addition to her experience working in the social work field as a foster care/adoption worker and hospital social worker, Lindsey worked for three years as a legal assistant to an immigration attorney in Birmingham, Alabama. Advocating for children is a passion for Lindsey that stems from mission work in Honduras and Mexico. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys playing with her two dogs, running, photography, and riding horses. She and her husband have lived in the Charlottesville area since May 2008. |

Annie Izard became a CASA Supervisor at Piedmont CASA in January 2009. Annie is married, with one child, and has lived in Charlottesville since 1999. She holds a BA from the University of Virginia and a JD from the George Mason University School of Law. Prior to working at Piedmont CASA, Annie practiced intellectual property law. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and bridge. |

Kati Naess became a CASA Supervisor at Piedmont CASA in January 2011. Kati was born and raised in Germany. She has a degree in Medical Technology from the University of Munich. She came to the United States as an exchange student to the University of Vermont, where she met her husband. Kati was a Supervisor with ChildAdvocates in Houston, TX for five years, and after that a Supervisor with CASA for Children in DC for two years. She also served as a volunteer for Piedmont CASA for two years. Kati lives in Scottsville with her dog and cat. Kati has three grown children and five grandchildren. In her spare time she takes care of two of her grandsons in Ivy. She loves the outdoors, gardening, cooking, skiing and sailing. |

Hope Payne began working at Piedmont CASA as a Supervisor in August 2008. Hope is married, mother to three children and has lived in Charlottesville since 1990. Hope holds a BA from James Madison University and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. She has twelve years of experience in the practice of family law and residential real estate. Prior to working at Piedmont CASA, she held a social work position at the Albemarle County Department of Social Services. In her free time she enjoys running and baking cookies. |

Chris Roberson joined Piedmont CASA in February 2011. He holds an M. Ed. and a B. A., both from the University of Virginia. Prior to his work with CASA, Chris was a teacher and school administrator for fifteen years, and he led fundraising efforts for the SPCA. His professional work in support of youth and families has been recognized with awards from the Cherry Creek School District, Colorado Department of Education, Colorado Academy of Educators, U.S. Department of Education, and Peabody School. In his leisure time, he enjoys family, motorcycles, hiking, U. Va. athletics, reading, and the outdoors. Chris and his wife share their space with a lively cadre of beagles and cats. |
