Training and Ongoing Support
You won't be on this journey alone.
Piedmont CASA provides comprehensive pre-service training designed to prepare you for every aspect of your role. Throughout training, you'll learn about the child welfare system, court proceedings, trauma-informed advocacy, child development, educational advocacy, cultural awareness, family dynamics, effective communication, report writing, and working with professionals involved in a child's case.
After training, you'll continue receiving guidance from an experienced CASA Supervisor who will answer questions, review court reports, provide resources, and support you throughout your case. Continuing education opportunities are also available to help volunteers expand their knowledge and strengthen their advocacy skills.
Our goal is to ensure every Advocate feels prepared, confident, and supported from their first day through every stage of their service.
