Becky Bassett joined the CASA Team of Supervisors in 2026. As a former educator of 15 years (two years in Florida, 13 in Charlottesville City Schools, and two years at JMU) and Director of Programs at International Neighbors Charlottesville, she is excited to bring her passion for serving children and the community to the CASA Team! Becky attended the University of Florida for undergrad and graduate school, receiving her M.Ed ( Master of Education) in 2003, and in 2020 she received a second graduate degree as a literacy specialist from James Madison University. Her previous volunteer and nonprofit work includes City of Promise, Charlottesville Schools PTO, Junior League of Charlottesville, International Neighbors, Music Resource Center, and Meals on Wheels. Becky lives in Charlottesville with her husband, her son, Calvin, two crazy rescue pups, and one cool adopted cat named Hobbes. In her spare time, Becky enjoys being with her people (friends and family), traveling, attending concerts and music festivals, cuddling up for a good movie, show, or the latest episode of ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ crafting, and helping people smile and laugh.
